The campsite will be open for the weekend: Fri 11, Sat 12 and Sun 13 September. Lots to do in Swanage this weekend-Swanage Folk Festival and Swanage Steam Railway Gala- so come and camp one last time this season

Bank Holiday

If you wish to camp over the bank holiday, we would recommend arriving Thursday or Friday afternoon - don't leave it too late! There may be a few spaces on Saturday morning around 11 am. We expect to be busy, weather permitting. Sorry but we don't take bookings. We update our answerphone message re availability daily. Campsite closes for this season on 2nd September

The last load of hay is cleared from the camping field. Looking forward to our first campers of the summer and hoping for some warm sunny weather!

Waterloo to Swanage

Julian Sawyer took this photo from the fields of Downshay. "The first steam passenger train form Waterloo to Swanage in over 40 years. For the steam buffs among you, this was a Battle of Britain class 34067 'Tangmere'. She looked quite impressive snaking her way through the valley on the Swanage Railway".  It would be great to get the train from Purbeck to London, See more of his great photos from Dorset on Flickr.
